Alwanzatar is a one-man electronic esoteric project, established in 2012, using analog and digital synthesizers, as well as flute, vocals and percussion, to create ritual ambience for alien raves and mystic communion with sleeping gods. The music is inspired by 80’s acid house, classic dub, German electronic music and Italian horror soundtracks of the 70’s, 90’s dungeon synth and classic progressive rock.
The only member is Krizla, who also plays in Tusmørke and features on several albums by diverse bands (e.g. Spectral Haze, Fleurety, Orango) as a flautist and psychedelic noise monger. Based in Oslo, Alwanzatar has played several concerts all over Norway in the past few years, including the Karlsøy Festival in Troms in 2017 and the Close to the Rain Festival in Bergen in 2018.
Alwanzatar has released “Astral Virak” (tape, Underjordiskoteket 2014), “To ritualer i Vigelandsmausoleet” (with Wepwawet om guitar, tape, Underjordiskoteket 2015), “Live Ritual Proceedings vol. II” (tape, Underjordiskoteket 2015), “Archaic Mysteries of Ecstasy” (tape, Underjordiskoteket 2015), “Live Ritual Proceedings vol. III” (tape, Underjordiskoteket 2016), “Live Ritual Proceedings vol. IV” (tape, Underjordiskoteket 2017), “Heliotropiske Reiser” (CD/LP, Apollon Records 2017), “Er’e heavy nå?” (tape, Sunroad Records 2017).
